Rural Alaska Aviation Academy Flight School: BBRCTE’s Flight School Program provides rural Alaska high school juniors and seniors with the opportunity to work toward earning their Private Pilot License at no cost. Students complete up to 50 hours of flight training and the ground instruction required for private pilot certification while building the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed for a career in aviation.
In addition to flight training, students participate in paid internships with local aviation businesses, gaining hands-on industry experience and developing valuable workplace skills such as professionalism, communication, problem-solving, and responsibility. Through immersive training and real-world experiences, students leave the program better prepared for success in aviation and life after high school.

Commercial Set Net Camp: Learn what it takes to be a commercial fishing crew member in Bristol Bay. You’ll be out on the water in a 22-foot aluminum skiff working a 50-fathom net. Experienced crew members will be right there with you, teaching you the ropes every step of the way. As a set netter, you’ll live on land in a comfortable building. By the end of the camp, you’ll know what it’s like to work in the Bristol Bay fishery and your experience could help you get a job fishing.
