Students will learn about fundamental design basics in this 7-class course. Students will design their own parka border (design on paper). For their project, students will make a cuff/bracelet out of calfskin. Most of the class will be hands-on but will require some reading. Students will learn the elements and principles of art and design, as they are applied to the traditional Yup’ik fur parka.
