Intro to Aviation

Description

Are you interested in aviation?  Would you like to become a pilot someday?  This rigorous self-paced course will give you a foundational understanding of aviation, and is the prerequisite for further aviation CTE courses including FAA ground school, and private pilot. 

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will have gained a foundational understanding of all the aspects of flight presented in the modules. The student will also gain a broad knowledge of multiple aviation career pathways.

The Introduction to Aviation course is built around the following 10 modules:

  • BASIC AERODYNAMICS
  • INTRO TO FLIGHT SIMULATOR
  • AIRPLANE INSTRUMENTS
  • AVIATION CHARTS
  • NAVIGATION
  • FLIGHT CALCULATIONS
  • AVIATION WEATHER
  • WEIGHT AND BALANCE
  • PREDICTING AIRPLANE PERFORMANCE

EXCITING CAREER POSSIBILITIES: Throughout the course we introduce students to a wide variety of aviation related careers that are presented through interviews with individuals working in those fields.  This Alaskan focused aviation course has been developed by Av-Stem.
